The Chinese smartphone maker, ZTE, has recently unveiled a new teaser on Weibo, revealing the plan of releasing a new smartphone on March 21. According to another rumor, the smartphone is expected to be named the Nubia Z17 mini. It also suggests the smartphone will be the successor of the Nubia Z11 mini from last year, so it isn’t going to be a high-end device.
The Nubia Z17 mini is expected to feature a 5.2-inch sized display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution, which gives it a pixel density of 424 PPI. There will be two different variants of the smartphone, one is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset and the other comes equipped the more powerful Snapdragon 653 SoC under the hood. The Snapdragon 652-powered version will come with 4GB of RAM, while the Snapdragon 653-powered variant is going to be packed with up to 6GB of RAM. In storage department, both versions will be integrated 64GB of eMMC 5.0 onboard memory. Two models will be released with Black Gold and Gold color options, and the Snapdragon 653-powered version will be added a new blue color.

As for the teaser hints, the smartphone will come equipped with a dual-camera setup at the back using two 13MP Sony IMX258 camera sensors, while on the front there will be a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls. Keeping the lights on will be a 3000mAh capacity battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support from Qualcomm. For connection and charging, the Nubia Z17 mini will have a USB Type-C port at the bottom, which is becoming a common trend on mid-range and high-end smartphones these days.
The rumor says that the Nubia Z17 mini will be priced at 1899 yuan at launch date in China, which converts to around $275.
