Xiaomi To Launch Mi 5X Or Mi 6 in India On September 5

A last few months, Xiaomi introduced its Mi 5X and Mi 6 in its Home country, China. The Mi 6, the latest flagship in Mi series, was launched in April, while the Mi 5X has recently been available on August 1. Although both are currently being sold in China, neither has yet seen a launch in Xiaomi’s other markets, such as India.

However, things might change soon as Xiaomi has started teasing an event on September 5 in India for u veiling one of these handsets. The press invite indicated that a “flagship dual camera” product would be launched at the New Delhi event. According to the image, it’s a representation of its dual camera setup. This sensor approach is the same as which can be found on the Xiaomi Mi 5X and Mi 6’s dual camera approach (with one wide-angle lens and one telephoto lens).

The dual camera phone, Mi 5X, has recently been released in China, and the fact that Xiaomi is asking fans to retweet whether they know the upcoming smartphone (opposed to a new device they’ve never heard of), and the Mi 5X is seemingly the strongest contender. The Mi 5X is also expected to be available for wider consumers than the Mi 6 because of its better price. That being said, the Mi 6 is a “flagship” smartphone, which is being teased. There is also another possibility that this event relates to the upcoming Mi MIX 2 of Xiaomi. Since its predecessor started as China-exclusive, and was experimental things by nature, so launching this device in New Delhi with these types of promo materials seems unique. Xiaomi might focus on its end-to-end display.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X is currently going on sale in China for the price of CNY 1,499, which is at around Rs. 14440 in India, while the Mi 6 phone started at CNY 2,499, which is around Rs. 24,000.
