Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 To Feature With Thinner Bezels And AMOLED Display

Last year, Xiaomi stunned smartphone fans all over the world with the introduction of its Mi MIX smartphone. Even though the Mi MIX has just gone on sale for only a few months, rumors of its successor are already coing the rounds. As for Lei Jun, the Xiaomi founder and CEO, said that the company aimed for a truly bezel-less phone with the upcoming version of Mi Mix and the device is still being dessigned by a French designer, Philippe Starck, who had created the dessign of  the Mi MIX.

According to new rumors, the Mi MIX 2 will be an even more impressive device than its predecessor, with a higher screen-to-body ratio of 93% over currently 83% screen-to-body ratio of Mi MIX. In addition to a higher screen-to-body ratio, the Mi MIX 2 will feature a dual-curved AMOLED display instead of the LCD panel on the Mi MIX to maximize the usable screen area.

Another significant change between the Mi MIX and its cucessor is the fingerprint scanner positioning. While the Mi MIX comes equipped a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, the Mi MIX 2 is rumored to feature a new in-display fingerprint sensor technology which is developed by a Chinese company named Goodix. Apple is rumored to use a similar technology on its upcoming iPhone 8 model this year as well, but the Mi MIX 2 debuts with this technology first, which means that the Mi MIX 2 will prpbably be the first smartphone to come equipped an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, another rumor said the fingerprint sensor on the Mi MIX 2 would be placed just below the screen and not embedded inside the display panel. In design department, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is expected to remain the ceramic body design on its predecessor, possibly only with a few minor changes. But it is still too early now for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 to be off the drawing board so you shouldn’t  take any of this for certain.
