It probably seems that another upcoming major flagship phone will have to use the slightly outdated chipset like on its processor. According to a new rumor from an account on Weibo social media, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 may be launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset like on Mi Mix or Mi Note 2, rather than the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. However, Xiaomi has not confirmed this rumor yet, so it’s not hard to believe.
Many earlier online reports states that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be two first smartphones equipped Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Samsung has only cornered this SoC for the market in the next few months. The new LG G6 has been released with the older Snapdragon 821 SoC due to the reportedly same reason.

But the good news is that if you really want to get the Xiaomi Mi 6 running the Snapdragon 835 chip, the company will launch a variant of the smartphone with that chip in the future, regarding to the same rumor. The Mi 6, which is the successor to the successful Mi 5 smartphone, is rumored to be officially unveiled on April 6. Previous unconfirmed leaks have said the device will have two different-sized variants: a flat 5.15-inch one like its predecessor, Mi 5, , along with 4GB of RAM, and a bigger Mi 6 version for phablet lovers with a curved display and 6GB of RAM. Other specs include a camera with the Sony IMX400 sensor at the back, 8MP front-facing camera and run on the latest MIUI version based on Android Nougat OS out of the box.
