Which Samsung Devices Should You Buy?

After the community was criticized for launching such an extensive portfolio with devices, Samsung finally decided to reduce the excess and just pay attention at three phone series: J, A and S  that is entry-level, mid-range and premium smartphones. There are quite some options to choose from, and in this post, we’ll to help you find which Samsung phone is the best one for you.

Although there are a few 2015 and 2016 devices available on the stores, but we only concentrate on the recently- launched smartphones in 2017. It’s usually great when looking at the latest option, especially when you are considering the entry- and mid- level models.

Galaxy J series

This year, the J series receives two new upgrades that are the J5 Pro and the J7 Neo. They are the top sellers in the J series. They’re very similar devices, and even though the J5 Pro is a little more expensive, it’s still an attractive phone.

The display on the J5 Pro is smaller as it just features a 5.2-inch screen. Both the front and rear cameras comes with the same 13 MP resolution, and it is equipped a Exynos 7870 octa-core chipset along with 32 GB storage and 3GB of RAM. Keeping the phone on is a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery, similar to the J7 Neo. If you love watch TV, the J7 Neo is a better choice as it has the upper hand.

If you want more entry-level choices for less than 150 USD, then the J1, J1 Mini and J2 Prime are the good choices you should consider. The last one is the best of the three. It features 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front facing snapper, a 2,600 mAh battery and the MT6737T SoC.

Galaxy A series

The 2017 Galaxy A5 and A7 models got some big upgrades and they have the similar specs, including Exynos 7 Octa 7880, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of inbuilt memory and both the 16MP front and back cameras. In terms of the battery and screen, the A5 comes with a 5.2-inch display and a 3,000 mAh battery, while the A7 features a huge 5.7-inch display and a 3,600 mAh battery.

The biggest difference in the 2017 A series is with the display and battery, which are usually proportional. There are still two devices from 2016 available on the market that are Galaxy A9 and A5 2016. If you love a big screen, the Galaxy A9 is the best choice. It features a 6-inch display and a very impressive 5,000 mAh battery.

Galaxy S series

Although it doesn’t come with S in the name, the Note is also considered a close cousin to the S line. The Note 8 is considered as a niche product and more of a phablet than a true smartphone, but  the Galaxy S8 and S8+ still come with the premium options of a smartphone . Once again, it’s now the question of display size over the hardware features.

The S8 is powered by the Exynos 8895, along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Both come with 12-megapixel rear cameras and 8 MP selfie cameras. However, if want something more powerful, you can go for the 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage with the S8+ model with a 6.2-inch display. But you will need about  nearly $800 to get the smartphone.
