According to some rumors, Oppo has announced a new addition to its list of Android selfies smartphones with the new product, Oppo A57. The smartphone officially received certification from China’s TENAA last month
The Oppo A57 features a metal unibody design, which is quickly becoming a standard for mid-range Android phones. The screen size of the handset is smaller than F1s when just flaunting a 5.2-inch HD IPS screen display with 2.5D curved glass and rounded edges on the sides, which is expected to bring a better display than F1s. The device will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 MSM8940 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz, with the Adreno 505 GPU for graphics. The new Oppo A57 also comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot, which can expand the storage up to 128GB.
The most valuable thing of the new Oppo A57 is the 16MP front-facing camera. The 16MP sensors boast of 1.12nm sized pixels with an f/2.0 aperture lens. On the back of the A57 is a 13MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus, an f/2.2 aperture lens, an LED flash, and HDR feature support, which can meet good requirements for taking photos.

Other connectivity like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 4.1, USB OTG support, GPS with GLONASS, FM Radio, dual-SIM support, and 4G LTE also appears on this new device. The fingerprint scanner has been embedded inside the Home button at the front. And all features are powered by a 2900mAh non removable battery. In terms of software, the Oppo A57 will run on ColorOS version 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As it is a mid-range device, we don’t expect it will get update to Android 7.0 Nougat anytime soon.
The Oppo A57 starts gooing on sale in China from December 12 with a price of $231. The selfie smartphone will be available in two color options: Gold and Rose Gold. We are not sure whether the A57 will be released for markets outside of China.
