LG today confirmed that the company would announce its latest flagship smartphone, expected LG G6, in an event held at pre-MWC on February 26th in Barcelona. The South Korean electronics company has started sending out invitations for its customers, with the tagline “See More, Play More”.
The LG G6 is expected to be a greater upgrade over the G5 in every single area, including the design. While many people think the basic design is expected to be similar to the G5 last year, but according to recent leaked renders have claimed that LG has removed the modular design concept, which was debuted with the G5. The LG G6 will come with a metal and glass body like the rival Samsung’s flagship handsets.
In terms of the display, some rumors suggest that the G6 could feature a 5.7-inch IPS screen with 2880 x 1440 (3K) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Although, the resolution hasn’t been confirmed yet, an recently official teaser released by the company confirmed that the G6 will flaunt a larger display than its predecessor. Also, LG G6 will also own the water and dust resistant, which make it become the first LG flagship to feature water resistance.
While Samsung S8 is expected to be got rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack, LG G6 will remain the good old audio connector. The 3.5mm headphone jack will be put at the bottom next to the USB Type-C port like on the G5. Other rumors of the handset include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core chipset, wireless charging support, and specially an iris scanner on the front.

After the failure of the LG G5 last year, the G6 is expected to be a success for LG to bring the company back to a relevant Android OEM. Its latest flagship device until now, the V20 proved itself to be a decent success, but the G-series flagships have failed to get popularity among consumers.
