The Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei, has recently announced the list of its smartphone updated the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS by early next year. However, a new leak showed that the Huawei Mate 8 and P9 would start receiving the update later from today, while the Huawei P9 Plus could get the Nougat beta update via OTA starting tomorrow.
The official stable Android 7.0 Nougat update released for Mate 8 will apparently arrive as version B552, while the update for Huawei P9 will arrive as software version B352. As of now, the Nougat update for two devices will be released starting today in China and Philippines. Other regions might receive the update soon, but there is no confirmation available yet. But one thing’s sure that the latest international variants of the Huawei Mate 8 and the P9 will receive the Android Nougat update by early next year.
The Android Nougat update from Huawei will decorate your devices with a new EMUI 5.0 custom skin. Huawei confidently claimed the new version of Android UI layer would significantly cut down on the number of steps needed to achieve the best experience for users. The main focus in the new EMUI 5.0 are security, user friendliness, and greater efficiency. EMUI 5.0 also adds the two options for users to select between the standard layout and an app drawer. Profiles will also run in parallel, which lets users move between their personal and professional lives easily.

As we said earlier, the Huawei Mate 8, P9, P9 Plus, P9 Lite, nova, and nova Plus smartphones will be tasted the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Some of other popular mid-range models have been left out by the Chinese smartphone maker, but we hope that Huawei will announce another list of eligible smartphones that will be updated to Android Nougat next year.
