Android is an open source built by Google, so manufacturers can do whatever they want with it. For example, Samsung’s customized TouchWiz layout often finds the subject of heated debates and not everyone is a fan. So if you are having a Samsung smartphone and want to remove TouchWiz from your device, we have a few solutions to help you out.
Disable TouchWiz apps (For Non-Rooted devices)
This will not be able to erase TouchWiz obiviously, but it absolutely remove annoying updates caused by pre-installed apps (bloatware) which are continuously eat up your internal memory.
You can get rid of the shortcut and widget, by going to Settings -> Applications -> Application Manager, look for the annoying app and tap on it.
Once you’re in the app, follow these steps:
- First, deselect the ‘Show notifications’ option
- Then erase the cache and data
- Lastly, tap on ‘Disable.’
Doing this way will make the app in the hibernation mode, it won’t update, or do anything. In case you want to turn it back on, just head to the application manager again and turn the app back on.
Install a different launcher
This is the best idea you can make without having to root your phone. If the icons and the background of Touchwiz aren’t your hobby, you can always modify the look to make your Samsung phone better.
With the customizable launcher, you can change the appearance of the icons. You just launch the Google Play Store and download many available launchers. There are some common launchers including Nova, Apex, and Google Now for your to choose.
For the first time you open the launcher, you’ll be prompted to choose your favorite launcher. Choose your launcher and tap on ‘always.’ In case you want to go back to TouchWiz layout, you just go to Settings -> Default Apps -> Home screen, choose your launcher, and then tap on the home button.
