Although many Zenfone 3 users are taking part in the Beta test, the official Android 8.0 Oreo update for ASUS Zenfone 3 has apparently leaked. The firmware build number is updated to WW_15.0410.1711.6 including the latest custom skin ZEN UI 4.0 for Zenfone 3 devices. Besides the new interface, the update also comes with the cool features such as AI power gallery, slideshow wallpaper, animated themes, and many to the device.
While the Android 8.0 is available, the update only comes with an older November 2017 security patch. We expect ASUS will release the newer patch security for the Zenfone 3 devices. Before getting started, there is something you should note:
- This update is only for ASUS Zenfone 3 devices, so don’t try it on other phones
- Make sure your phone is running on WW-14.2020.1711.75 firmware version with the custom recovery. If you try installing this update via TWRP custom recovery, it will not work.
- Back up all important data to avoid something goes wrong.
- Before installing the update, charge your phone’s battery fully. We will not take responsibility if your phone gets bricked for any reason during the installation.

Step1: Download the update zip file as the link above
Step 2: Once done, transfer the file to the external storage of your device
Step 3: Switch off your phone and then boot it into the stock recovery mode by pressing Power button + Vol down buttons.
Step 4: Choose install update through microSD card section
Step 5: Now, choose the .zip file you just downloaded
Step 6: Wait for some minutes until the installation is completed. Now reboot your device and enjoy the new Android 8.0 Oreo on your Zenfone 3.
