Some iPhone 8 users are complaining about the battery usage on their device, as the battery runs out of too fast. In most cases, it comes from an app gone rogue or simply the bad habit for the daily use behind the wheel.
We are still expecting the next updates from Apple but there’s no information about the time of the next upgrade. So, if possible, you should fix the bad battery issues yourself. This post will show you some potential fixes that help you improve the fast battery drain on your iPhone 8.
Enable Low Power Mode
Your iPhone 8 comes with a feature, called Low Power Mode. After activating it, it will automatically minimize the animations and optimize your device’s performance. Although some of the services such as AirDrop and iCloud Sync will be disabled, you will be able to make more phone calls, receive more texts, etc.
To enable Low Power Mode, simply go to Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode and toggle it On if you want to save more battery percentage without having to turn Airplane Mode on. You can also swipe up to open Control Center and tap on battery icon (representing for Low Power Mode).
Manage TrueTone Display
Your new iPhone 8 comes with a new True Tone Display technology. However, the display can cause the serious damage to your battery life.
If you are not ready to manage your display, it’d better turn on Auto Brightness. The sensors of your phone will do all the work for you based on the lighting conditions.
But in some case, you see your screen is bright for no reason, it will eat up some battery. That time, you should try manually adjusting your display to suit the lighting conditions. You have to turn Auto Brightness off.
To do so, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations > Auto-Brightness and disable it. After that, you’ll need to manually adjust your screen brightness.
All you need to do is simply swiping up Control Center from the bottom and adjusting the screen. You can also do it in the Settings.
Turn Off Location Services
Location services like GPS can drain your battery life so fast. Fortunately, there are a lot of control over the services running on your device.
To do so, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Just tap on it and shut them off entirely.
If a rarely used app is working in the background, limiting its capabilities by tapping on the app and choose Never.

Disable Raise to Wake Feature
The iPhone 8 has a nifty feature, called Raise to Wake. This feature will wake your phone up every time you pick it up. Disabling it will help you fix the bad battery life on your iPhone 8.
If you manually turn your phone on every time picking it up, go to Settings > Display & Brightness and turn the Raise to Wake option off.
Reset All Settings
If none of above method works, you should try resetting your device’s settings. To do so, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings, enter your passcode if you enable it on your iPhone 8.
The process will need some minutes and it will restore the settings on your phone to the factory defaults. So, ensure that you have all of your Wi-Fi passwords handy as your iPhone 8 will forget them.
