Honor Magic officially released with a Quad HD AMOLED Display & Dual Rear Cameras

Huawei has continued to add a new smartphone into Honor family, named Honor Magic. The smartphone will start going on sale in China starting for a price tag of $532 in Golden Black and Porcelain White color options and be in high-end smartphone class.

The new Honor device comes with a 5.09-inch Quad HD curved AMOLED display with 3D glass on the front. The back of the handset also features with a curved glass design, which makes the Honor Magic different from other Huawei devices. Inside the device is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 950 octa-core processor clocked speed at 2.3 GHz, accompanied with the Mali-T880MP4 GPU for handling graphics. This chipset has been paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB ofbuilt-in storage. Unlike most high-end smartphones on the market, the Honor Magic just comes with single memory configurations.

At the back of the handset features a familiar 12MP dual camera setup, with each sensor boasting of a 1.4um pixel size, with f/2.2 aperture lens, and a dual-tone LED flash. On the front is an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens, which is expected to bring great selfies. A new & unique feature of the Honor Magic is FaceCode Intelligent Recognition, which ensures new message notifications are only visible for being pre-registered faces for privacy protection. Huawei also introduced a cool new AI driven feature with Honnor Magic, called DeepThink. The fingerprint scanner has been embedded into the physical home button on the front. Moreover, the home button can also be useful for navigating around the screen, and keeping function as the back and overview buttons.

Other smart connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, and dual SIM are also included. All features of Honor Magic are powered by a 2900mAh battery, with the support for Magic Power fast charging. Honor claims that the battery can be charged up to 70% in just 20 minutes and up to 90% in 30 minutes. But there is a minus about the software, instead of running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat, the Honor Magic is just installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with all the new AI driven features. Honor has not mentioned the time to update to Android 7.0 yet, but we hope that the Chinese company will update the smartphone to the latest Android version in the near future.
