While most of us are still enjoying our holiday with many activities, the Chinese smartphone company, Gionee has launched a new smartphone earlier this morning. The Gionee M2017, which was rumored earlier in November, is now officially introduced, and the biggest feature is its huge battery.
The Gionee M2017 actually comes with two 3,500mAh batteries inside, which gives the smartphone a total battery capacity of 7,000mAh. Gionee claims its new smartphone can reach to nearly 26 hours of continuous video playback. The Gionee M2017 will sport a 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED screen, which puts it on the line with flagship smartphone’s display, and inside is packed with 6GB of RAM, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor clocked speed at 1.95 GHz with the Adreno 510 GPU for handling graphic and preinstalled Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Gionee M2017 smartphone will feature with dual rear camera lenses, with one with a 12MP sensor and the other with 13MP, which is expected to bring beautiful shots. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera and a fingerprint sensor embedded inside the physical home button. Other smart connectivity like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS are also included. There are two minuses of this phone is not having the microSD card slot or the 3.5mm headphone jack, but it includes a great looking leather back panel.

There will be two versions of the Gionee M2017 sold in China. First one has 128GB of inbuilt storage for the price tag of nearly $1,007 while the version with 256GB of storage is priced at about $2,446. With those prices, this phone is being aimed to a crowd of consumers. But there’s still no information when the Gionee M2017 will be released outside of China.
