Asus has officially launched the new Zenfone 3 Zoom smartphone, along with the Zenfone AR at CES last week, which has the actual zoom mechanism from the initial Zenfone Zoom like dual-camera solution on iPhone 7 Plus that still provides 2.3x magnification before going into digital zoom mode. But we don’t have much details about the pricing for the ASUS’s new device. Thanks to the introduction of the ASUS Pegasus 3S in Taiwan today, the company has unveiled more info about the Zenfone 3 Zoom.
While we just know the ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom will be available next month, now we also get an idea of what you will prepare to purchase it. In China, the highest version with 128GB of internal storage will be priced at CNY 3,699, which means now $533 or €504. And the 32 and 64GB models will obviously be cheaper, but how much their price tag is still a secret.
The ZenFone 3 Zoom owns an aluminum unibody design, with only 7.9mm thick, but contains a 5000mAh battery inside, features a 5.5″ Full HD AMOLED display coming with Gorilla Glass 5 on the top. Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, which is packed with several different RAM options of 2GB/3GB/4GB and storage configurations of 32GB/64GB/128GB.

The Zenfone 3 Zoom itself is equipped a dual 12 MP camera at the back, you will get a 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor with 25mm wide-angle lens and f/1.7 aperture, along with a dedicated 12MP, 56mm lens for 2.3x optical zoom. They both have 1.4nm pixels. The ZenFone 3 Zoom also shares stunning features with the ZenFone AR, such as four-axis OIS photo, three-axis EIS video, 4K video recording, Super Resolution Mode, Low Light mode.
Finally, one thing you should note that the price in North America and Europe are always higher than in China, so you do not hope to get an unlocked Zenfone 3 Zoom 128GB version for just over $500. Hopefully Asus will not have much change about prices for other markets out of China by the time the device goes on sale.
