If you are a regular observer of the timely organized tech events, then you must know that Asus had announced its brand new feature-centric Smartphone the ZenFone Zoom for the first time in January 2015 at its own CES press conference. After a long delay next to its first introduction, Asus again introduced the Smartphone at IFA 2015 in Berlin. Still it took more than a couple of months before the Smartphone was finally made to public in December 2015 and that only in its home market of Taiwan. Finally the Smartphone was introduced in India in the previous week at a much higher price than the most other upper mid-range handsets.
But before the Smartphone was launched in India, the previous month only Asus had announced at its CES 2016 press conference in Las Vegas that it would launch the Camera-enriched ZenFone Zoom in the US in early February. Finally keeping its promise, Asus has started selling the said device in the markets of the United States. The handset is exclusively available via B&H Photo and is compatible with the AT&T and T-Mobile LTE networks in the Country. But it’s not compatible with the Verizon and Sprint networks. The handset is available at the price tag of $399.99 unlocked.
Now moving to the Specifications and features of the Asus ZenFone Zoom, it features a 5.5” 1080 x 1920 IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels HD resolution. Besides, the Smartphone is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and supports 403 PPI pixel density. The device comes powered by an Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core SoC clocked at 2.3 GHz and packs 4GB of RAM with 64GB of built-in storage. The handset is specially prioritized for its awesome Cameras as it packs a 13MP primary cam with 3x optical zoom and a number of other camera hardware features such as shutter speed adjustment, ISO, exposure, white balance and many more.
Among other specific features, the Asus ZenFone Zoom packs a number of connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 + EDR, IR, GPS with A-GPS, and 4G LTE. For durable power backup, the Smartphone packs 3000mAh battery and most importantly, the Smartphone runs on the powerful Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. However, Asus has not ensured if it’s going to roll an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the ZenFone Zoom.
