The final Android 8.0 Oreo version has been available for Pixel and Nexus devices. When will your smartphone receive the next Android Oreo update? So in this post, we’ll keep you up to date on which manufacturers and devices will be getting the Android Oreo.
Which devices will receive Android Oreo?
Google Nexus and Pixel devices
The first devices in line to receive Android Oreo update are always Google’s own devices: the Pixel and Nexus phones. At present, the final version through OTA (over the air) is now available for all Google’s own phones.
Previously, Google posted their update the plan support for the Pixel and Pixel XL, guaranteeing two years of Android updates and three years of security patch updates. Besides the Pixel and Pixel XL, the Nexus 5X, 6P, Player and Google Pixel C will be getting the Android updates for at least one more year.
Android Oreo for OnePlus
OnePlus’s CEO, Pete Lau has confirmed on his Twitter that Android Oreo will be available for the duo OnePlus 3/3T and OnePlus 5. Although the company stops producing these smartphones, the manufacturer promises to support three popular devices and update them to the Android Oreo. According to a recent post on Reddit AMA, OnePlus will release the official Android 8.0 update by the end of this year.
Android 8.0 for Nokia
Nokia seems to be working hard on the update. Juho Sarvikas , HMD Global Chief Product Officer posted a couple of images on his Twitter about Nokia 8 smartphone running the Android Oreo Beta. These images mean that the Android 8.0 update is already in the testing stages and should be available soon. Nokia previously confirmed that their Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo as well.
Android Oreo update for HTC devices
HTC has recently announced the list of the phones to get the Android Oreo update, including HTC U11, HTC U Ultra, and HTC 10, though the time frame wasn’t revealed. With the previous update speed, it seems that HTC will upgrade at least some devices to Android Oreo by the end of 2017.
Android Oreo for Asus devices
Asus has recently introduced six new variants of ZenFone 4 series, and the Taiwanese company promised that the entire ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 4 lines would get the Android Oreo update in the future. The Asus users can expect the update by the second half of 2018, according to Asus.

Android Oreo update for Motorola devices
Motorola has just revealed the list of the smartphones that will be receiving the Android Oreo update. The update rollout will start from this fall, but there’s no more specific information at this time. Motorola is expected to start with its newer high-end smartphones like the Moto Z2 devices. You can check out the image below.
Android Oreo for Huawei devices
Huawei is the first OEM manufacturer to be working on the Android 8.0, which is currently available for the Pixel and some Nexus devices. The Chinese company is testing Android Oreo version on its Mate 9, though the build still lacks a lot of features, and prevents users from tasting the most interesting features. For instance, it’s impossible to access the Google Play Store yet.
However, this development means that the updates will come to Huawei’s devices as quickly as possible. Huawei may be ready to deploy the final update of Android Oreo to the Mate 9 shortly, which is expected to start at the end of next summer if Google follows the same schedule as in previous years.
