Android 7.0 Nougat Update Starts Hitting Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)

After rolling out the Android Nougat update for its flagship lineup, Samsung has continued the plan for the mid-range device from last year. One of the first mid-range models that receives the update Nougat is the Galaxy A5 (2016) for Russian market.

The OTA update comes with the A510FXXU4CQDK version, but the size of the OTA update is not yet to know. However, the update brings a lot of new features for Galaxy A5(2016) as Samsung has added the UI design of its flagship Galaxy S7 models on the device. Almost of features are very similar as well, so you are definitely pleased with the update. Unfortunately, the update has only been released for a small number of units in Russia that means the rest of you have to wait a few more weeks before the update hits your device.

From now, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings > About device > Software Updates. If there is the update available for your A5, simply get it and then install it on your device by following the on-screen instructions. However, before performing the OTA update, you need to make sure your Galaxy A5 (2016) is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. Although, we do not know exactly the size of the OTA update, it is at least over 1GB. We don’t encourage you to download it by using the cellular data network. Besides, you should also ensure the battery of your Galaxy A5 (2016) battery is over 60% so that there will not have unexpected issues during installing the update. As it is an important update, so it will take 10-15 minutes for the installation to be completed. If the battery might run out before the installation process is done, your device will end up being bricked.
