Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for OnePlus One & OnePlus 2 Smartphones

Although the exact date isn’t confirmed but according to the news published today in the company’s forum page, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the OnePlus devices is expected to be rolled in the first quarter of 2016. As mentioned in the post, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be rolled for the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 Smartphones by Cyanogen OS in the first quarter of 2016. Added to this, the company ensured that it will update the community build of Oxygen OS for the OnePlus One when time permits.

The company plans to roll the Marshmallow update for the OnePlus One & OnePlus 2 Smartphones somewhere in the first quarter of 2016. Whilst a custom API for the fingerprint implementation in Oxygen OS is presently used by the OnePlus, the company plans to include the new standard Marshmallow API for the fingerprint sensor for the OnePlus 2.

To tell about the recently launched OnePlus device the OnePlus X, there is no hints about the specific time frame when the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be rolled for it. The post claims that the company is working hard to bring the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update as soon as possible for the OnePlus X and anything regarding the details of the update will be informed later. Most probably, OnePlus will start operating the Android Marshmallow update for the said device somewhere around the second quarter of 2016.

The Kernel sources for the OnePlus X device is out which is said to help developers to get started with some excellent custom development works. Until the Marshmallow update begins, the company will continue to release Oxygen OS updates for its other devices i.e. OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X.
